dmassell@umich.eduDiane Massell received her doctorate in educational administration and policy analysis from Stanford Univeristy in 2000. She began her career in the education program of the National Conference of State Legislatures, and first joined the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) in 1991. Her current interests focus on how state education agencies (SEAs) access and use different types of evidence, in particular the role of intermediary organizations in that effort. A research project examining the use of evidence in the design of SEA interventions for low-performing schools builds upon her earlier work evaluating federal comprehensive assistance center providers’ support for SEAs. Other studies include an evaluation, with the American Institutes for Research, of the impact of state supports in Michigan on low-performing schools.
