CPRE's ECDataWorks project (University of Pennsylvania) was listed among the best initiatives at this year's SXSW EDU dedicated to the investment of early childhood learning. ECDataWorks state stakeholders Jess Bruno (Georgia), Anita Larson (Minnesota), and Howard Morrison (Texas) joined CPRE Senior Researcher and ECDataWorks' Principal Investigator Philip Sirinides (University of Pennsylvania) and Co-PI Missy Coffey to lead a March 5 panel discussion outlining their journey to launch an innovative analytics tool in their state. The ECDataWorks project team has been working directly with states in a collaborative, outcomes-driven manner to conceptualize and develop tools to build capacity for the delivery and strategic use of existing early childhood data. Stakeholders shared the complexities of making their data dreams a reality, their challenges, and the type of policy decisions and practice such data tools could support.

ECDataWorks also premiered a preview of its 2019 mini documentary titled, Bridging The Divide: A New Renaissance in Early Childhood Data Use. This video showcases the ongoing work happening in Texas, Georgia, Utah and Minnesota and features Howard Morrison (Texas), Anita Larson (Minnesota), and others working to make integrated data dreams a reality.
