Douglas Ready Leads Teacher College Arm of the Consortium for Policy Research in Education Into New Era
More than 30 years ago, the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) began analyzing the effectiveness of education policies and standards and providing evidence-based knowledge to improve education practice. Originally headquartered at Rutgers University, CPRE moved to its current headquarters at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education in 1995. However, for the past 12 years, during the recently-concluded Teachers College presidency of CPRE founder Susan Fuhrman, Teachers College has been a principal branch of the Consortium — and in fall 2017, TC Associate Professor of Education & Public Policy Douglas Ready assumed the role of Director at CPRE/TC.
“It’s humbling to help lead an organization with a 30-year record of conducting high-quality research on how to improve K-12 schooling, and that’s generally regarded as one of the premier university-based policy evaluation organizations,” say Ready.
Under Ready’s leadership, a group of TC faculty and graduate students are conducting a range of new CPRE research projects. To learn more about CPRE/TC projects and to read this full article from TC People, click here.
